Entrance Exam Review Philippines, from Big School to College

Entrance exam review in the Philippines with Eduline is one-on-one preparation for every test between school levels: Big School, Junior High, Senior High and college. For AY 2027-2028 entry, the college season runs from UPCAT on 1 and 2 August to DCAT sittings into December, and a private tutor works around it with each learner, online or at home.

Four doors across one school career

Many private schools and universities in the Philippines examine at entry, so one learner can meet an entrance test four times. Before Grade 1, a big school checks whether a five- or six-year-old can listen and try something unfamiliar. In Grade 6 comes the Junior High test, often the first a child feels is deciding something. In Grade 10 comes Senior High entry, into a level newly restructured under the Strengthened SHS curriculum. Then the college season.

What helps changes with age. A preschooler’s readiness grows over months and cannot be crammed. An eleven-year-old takes the weight of the test from the adults nearby, so a calm home matters as much as practice. By Grade 12 the learner runs the work and the tutor watches the dates.

The college calendar, August to December

Most Grade 12 learners take several college tests in one season. For AY 2027-2028 entry, UPCAT came on 1 and 2 August with applications closed in March, Ateneo held the ACET in September, and De La Salle sits the DCAT at its Manila campus on 8 November with Laguna and online sittings into December; UST announces its own USTET batches. The subjects underneath overlap heavily, so one plan with every date on it costs less than a course per university. The application comes first: a missed window shuts that door for the cycle.

Each university publishes what its applicants need, and every plan here is built from that published material, one university at a time, so the review matches the paper the learner will sit.

One-on-one review beside the review center season

In the Philippines, “review” is the word for the preparation and “reviewer” for the booklet a learner studies from. A review center runs a batch through one shared schedule, which gives structure and company. A one-on-one tutor works from one learner’s own mistakes and dates, slowing down on the section that keeps costing marks. Plenty of reviewees use both.

Admission rests on each school’s process and on who else applies, and tutoring builds the strongest paper a learner can bring to it. Review sessions run online from any province, or at home with a reviewer based in your city, and each review hour is priced for you in writing ahead of the first mock paper.

Questions about Entrance Exams

When should entrance exam review start?

For big school, months ahead. For Junior High and Senior High, usually a term before the test. For college, by the start of Grade 12, since UPCAT opens the entrance season and its application window closes months before the test. At every level, check the application deadline first.

Do you have the reviewer for UPCAT, ACET, USTET or DCAT?

The plan works from the real thing: each university's own announcements and the reviewer the learner already has. Bring the reviewer from school or a review center, and the tutor works through the items that keep getting missed.

Already enrolled in a review center. Is a tutor still worth it?

Yes, and the two work well side by side. The review center carries the full syllabus with a class; the tutor takes the one subject dragging the practice scores down, or the timed papers where the learner freezes, and works it one to one until it holds. Kung nakakasabay na siya sa review center, a short block on that single subject is the right size.

Can tutoring get a learner into the school?

Admission is the school's decision, made on its own paper and criteria. Review is what closes the gaps before that paper and makes test day feel familiar, so the learner sits it at full strength. Any change of tutor during the review is free on request.
