Terms & Code of Conduct

Rules for conducting Eduline private tutoring sessions

Last updated: September 29, 2026

About this service

Eduline matches each student with a partner tutor. The tutor delivers the teaching, and we handle matching, scheduling, payments, progress reports, and a free tutor replacement whenever the student asks.

Introduction

These Terms & Code of Conduct govern how Eduline private tutoring sessions are carried out, both face-to-face and online. By joining an Eduline tutoring program, the student, together with the parent or guardian who registers a student under 18, is deemed to have read, understood, and agreed to all the terms below. Their purpose is to keep the learning process smooth, comfortable, and fair for everyone involved.

Chapter 1: Teaching & Learning Activities

Terms for conducting tutoring sessions:

Lesson Time

Lesson time is counted from the moment the tutor has arrived at the place where teaching and learning takes place.

Attendance Sheet

The student is required to fill in the attendance on the Attendance Sheet brought by the tutor at every session.

Forgotten Attendance Sheet

If the tutor forgets to bring the attendance sheet, the student is required to fill it in at the next session.

Tutor Lateness

If the tutor arrives late, the lesson is still conducted for the full intended duration.

End of Session

The lesson must end once the lesson duration is over.

Additional Rules

Other rules regarding the teaching and learning activities may be set by the student, or by the parent or guardian of a student who is a minor.

Chapter 2: Student Permissions

Terms for permissions and rescheduling:

Rescheduling

A student may move a session free of charge with notice given at least 24 hours before it starts.

Last-Minute Absence

If the student, or whoever booked on the student’s behalf, gives no notice, or gives notice less than 24 hours before the session starts and the session cannot be moved with the tutor, the session counts as taught. When the student does not attend, the tutor waits 15 minutes before the session is counted.

Tutor Replacement

The student may ask for a tutor replacement at any time, and so may the person who registered them. The replacement is free of charge, and we propose the new tutor.

Chapter 3: Packages & Lesson Periods

Terms regarding package validity:

Package Validity

Lesson packages are monthly, valid for 30 days (1 month) counted from the first lesson session, with a 15-day grace period.

Delay of More Than 45 Days

If an issue causes lessons to be postponed or delayed more than 45 days in one period, the student may notify customer service (CS) directly.

Chapter 4: Lesson Package Renewal

Terms for renewing a lesson package:

Package Renewal

Renewing lessons the following month incurs no registration fee again (only the monthly lesson package fee).

Automatic Renewal

Lesson package renewal uses an Autorenewal system: the package is renewed automatically once the sessions remaining in the package reach 2 (two) or 1 (one). At that point, the invoice for the renewal package is issued automatically.

Stopping the Renewal

If you do not wish to continue the lesson package, the student or the person who registered the student may inform Learner Support before the renewal invoice is issued so that the renewal can be stopped.

No Confirmation Received

If there is no confirmation to stop the renewal, the renewal invoice will still be issued and the Tutor will continue the learning process in accordance with the applicable package and schedule.

Chapter 5: Payment & Lesson Fees

Terms for lesson fee payment:

Payment Methods

Payment is made through the methods offered at checkout. Direct payment to the tutor is not permitted.

Payment at the Start of the Period

All lesson fees must be paid at the beginning of the period or package each month.

First Payment Grace Period

The initial payment may be deferred for a maximum of 1 (one) day after the first face-to-face session.

Chapter 6: Lesson Cancellation

Terms for cancellation and refunds:

Registration Fee

Where a registration fee applies, it is refunded if the student cancels before a tutor has been matched and introduced. Once a tutor has been matched and introduced, the fee covers the matching work already done and is kept when the student cancels. It is refunded in full whenever lessons stop for a reason on our side.

Stopping Ongoing Lessons

To stop lessons that are already running, the student, or the person who registered them, tells Eduline at least 24 hours before the next scheduled lesson, so the tutor does not travel for a lesson that will not happen. With less than 24 hours of notice, that next lesson counts as taught unless it can be moved with the tutor.

Mid-Period Cancellation

If a student stops lessons before the lesson period ends, the sessions already conducted are charged at the single-lesson rate, and every unused paid session is refunded within 7 business days, as the Refund and Cancellation Policy at eduline.ph/en/refund-policy sets out.

Deposit Refund Guarantee

Key Guarantee

If a tutor misses a lesson, it is rescheduled at no cost. If lessons stop for a reason on the tutor’s side and we cannot give the student a tutor they are happy with within 14 days, we refund every unused session and the registration fee in full within 7 business days. This is our headline commitment: any unused deposit stays safe.

Chapter 7: Restrictions & Prohibitions

Actions that are prohibited within the program:

Lessons Outside the Institution

Students are not permitted to arrange private lessons directly with a tutor without the institution’s knowledge.

Direct Payment to Tutors

Payment goes through the methods offered at checkout, and never directly to the teacher.

Contact After Stopping

Once lessons have stopped, the student is prohibited from contacting the teacher directly.
