Online Araling Panlipunan tutor jobs Philippines, taught on a map

Online Araling Panlipunan tutor jobs Philippines: a part-time Eduline role taught entirely by video call, which you can hold from the Philippines or from any of eight more countries in the Eduline network. Under MATATAG, AP becomes its own subject in Grade 4, opening with map and globe skills and the country's location. Applying costs nothing, and a person reads every application.

What an online AP session looks like

You teach Araling Panlipunan one learner at a time over a video call, and most of the hour lives on a shared screen. A map of the Philippines sits open beside the lesson, a timeline grows as the learner talks, and a scanned document is zoomed in until its handwriting can be read together. The learner keeps the camera on their notebook, and you watch how they place a province, a date or a cause before the lesson moves on.

AP grades a short list of skills again and again: reading a map, reading a historical document, reading an economics graph, and arguing a current issue. A strong online session picks one and builds the hour around the learner's own returned papers and term tasks. For Grade 6 that could be a stretch of the years from 1872 to the present; for Grade 9 it could be how demand and supply settle a price. You choose two or three sources, show them, and let the learner explain what they see.

Primary sources are easy to reach from a laptop. The National Library has digitized parts of the Philippine Revolutionary Records, among them the Bonifacio trial records and the Acta de la Proclamacion de Independencia, and the Filipinas Heritage Library keeps maps and old photographs readable online. Grade 10 asks learners to analyze data and varied sources, so a document on screen is the competency itself.

Files travel before and after each call: a cropped map to label, a blank timeline to finish, a short source with a few questions beside it. Each grade's standard ends in a product, such as a Grade 7 advocacy on ASEAN's role or a Grade 10 analysis paper on economic issues, and much of the work is helping a learner plan that output across several calls while the writing stays their own. You set the hours you can teach.

Marked-up work comes back the same way. A learner circles a province on the downloaded map, underlines a line in a scanned record, or labels the curves of a graph, then sends a photo or the edited file before the next call. You open it on screen, write beside their marks in a second color, and start the hour from what they got right.

Grade 9 Ekonomiks is where the screen does the most. The MATATAG guide asks learners to read how demand and supply meet and move prices, to follow the circular flow in a five-sector model, and to measure GNI and GDP. You draw the curves live, shift one while the learner predicts the new price, and let them redraw it until the reasoning is theirs.

This school year, SY 2026-2027, is cut into three terms by a 2026 DepEd order, each closing with a term exam, and the end-of-term weeks fall in September, December and late March. Requests for AP sessions gather before them, when a Grade 7 to 10 learner faces a 50-item exam with higher-order questions.

Public collections an online AP lesson opens

Each opens free in a browser, so tutor and learner read the same page from anywhere.

  • NAMRIA maps

The Administrative Map of the Philippines and topographic maps, free to download, for location and territory lessons.

  • Geoportal Philippines

Flood hazard layers at 1:10,000, active faults and Hazards Near Me, for a Grade 10 plan that answers an environmental risk.

  • National Archives, Erección de los Pueblos

8,834 digitized catalog cards from the Spanish Documents Section, searchable by province and date, on how towns, barrios and parishes were founded. A learner can trace their own town.

  • DBM budget documents

The 2027 People's Proposed Budget and the FY 2027 National Expenditure Program, for lessons on government services and public spending.

The four skills AP grades, taught over a video call

Araling Panlipunan asks for the same few skills from Grade 4 to Grade 11, and an online session is built around one of them.

  • Reading a map

Grade 4 starts by fixing where the Philippines sits, by coordinates and by its neighbors, then reads its territory three ways; Grade 7 places the country in Southeast Asia. The learner marks a NAMRIA map live.

  • Reading a historical document

Philippine history runs through Grades 5, 6 and 7 on purpose. The learner reads a scanned record and names its time, its author and its purpose.

  • Reading an economics graph

Grade 9 Ekonomiks: curves of demand and supply crossing at equilibrium, how markets are structured, money circling between sectors, and how GDP and GNI are counted.

  • Arguing a current issue

Grade 8 researches current issues, and Grade 10 writes an analysis paper on economic issues and a plan answering an environmental challenge.

  • Pag-aaral ng Kasaysayan at Lipunang Pilipino

A Grade 11 core subject of the Strengthened SHS since June 2026, thematic and interdisciplinary, with constitutions read in full from the Official Gazette.

What you need to tutor AP online

Sound knowledge of the subject comes first, followed by the setup that lets a learner see what you see.

  • A firm grasp of Philippine history, geography, civics and economics across Grades 4 to 10.
  • Teaching and marking in academic Filipino: DepEd Order No. 10, s. 2024 makes Filipino the medium for AP in Grades 7 to 10. Keep English explanations ready for when a learner asks.
  • A computer with a webcam and microphone, and internet steady enough to keep a shared screen up for a full hour.
  • Practice opening maps, scanned documents and photographs on screen and marking them up while you explain.
  • Proof of who you are and what you studied: a valid government ID plus a TOR or diploma. A PRC license is welcome for AP placements, and optional.
  • For a tutor based in the Philippines, an NBI clearance on file before the first AP learner.
  • A quiet, well-lit corner to teach from, wherever in the nine network countries you are based.

How pay is offered for online AP placements

An online AP offer shows its hourly rate first. Subject, grade level and setting decide the figure, and an online AP placement is priced at the online rate for that grade. Read the figure and the schedule, then choose whether the placement suits you.

Ask for the current rates in Araling Panlipunan when you apply, and we will tell you for the grade levels you plan to teach. You know the number before you commit an hour of your week.

When a placement stops suiting your week, ask for a re-match and you are offered a different learner. Learners keep the matching right on their side: Eduline replaces their tutor free, any time they ask.

From application to your first AP video call

  1. 1

Tell us your grades and your country

Name the AP grade levels and skills you teach best, where you are based, and which hours of your week stay free for video calls.

  2. 2

Send ID and proof of schooling

A valid government ID with your TOR or diploma, a PRC license if you hold one, and, for applicants living in the Philippines, NBI clearance arranged before placement.

  3. 3

    Meet the team on video

A conversation on the AP grades and skills where you are strongest, from Grade 4 maps to Grade 11 Philippine history, and the languages you teach in.

  4. 4

    Read the offer, then decide

An offer states the learner's grade, the AP skill to work on, the session times and the hourly rate, and you decide whether it fits your week.

What applicants ask about online AP tutoring

Do I need to teach Araling Panlipunan in Filipino?

For most learners, yes. DepEd Order No. 10, s. 2024 sets Filipino as the medium for Araling Panlipunan in Grades 7 to 10, so terms, test items and term papers arrive in Filipino. Explaining a hard term in English and returning to Filipino serves most learners well, and you tell us your languages in the conversation step.

I live in Dubai, Doha or Singapore. Can I apply?

Yes. You can apply from home in the Philippines, or while based in Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand, in India, in Qatar or the UAE, or in Egypt or Kenya. Only a tutor based in the Philippines adds an NBI clearance. From abroad you apply with your ID and proof of schooling, and you tell us your time zone so offers land in hours you can teach.

Which grades will I teach, and is Grade 10 on MATATAG this year?

AP runs from Grade 4 to Grade 10, and Grade 11 takes Pag-aaral ng Kasaysayan at Lipunang Pilipino. In SY 2026-2027 Grades 4 to 9 are on MATATAG; Grade 10 keeps the older MELC-based program this year and moves over in SY 2027-2028, with contemporary issues in Grade 10 under both. You choose your levels when you apply.

How do I handle contested history in a session?

Calmly, and from the sources. The MATATAG guide asks learners to judge historical significance and context, and to respect the many identities of a multi-ethnolinguistic country, so a disputed event is taught by reading what each record says, who wrote it and when. The learner builds the argument; your part is keeping it tied to evidence.

Grade 8 covers ideologies and Grade 10 covers political and human-rights issues. How do I keep those balanced?

Lay out each position the learner's sources take, name the data behind it, and ask the learner to weigh them in their own words. Grade 10 grades analyzing data and sources, critical thinking and decision-making, so a balanced session trains exactly what the term grade reads.

Can I help with an ASEAN advocacy or an economics paper without doing it for the learner?

Yes, and that line is the job. You help the learner choose a question, find sources, outline, and revise the drafts they send between calls; the writing and the final product stay theirs. DepEd Order No. 15, s. 2026 also lets one integrative task be graded across several subjects with separate rubrics, so ask to see the rubric before planning.
